About MIZ
Mandatory Inclusionary Zoning (MIZ) originated from the Constellation Project, established in 2018 as a cross-sector initiative by the Red Cross, Mission Australia, PwC, and the Centre for Social Impact to address homelessness through evidence-based systems change.
A dedicated MIZ Steering Committee was subsequently formed, uniting experts from these and other partner organisations.
After five years of collaboration and consultation with more than 100 stakeholders, the Constellation Project released Australia’s first national policy framework for Mandatory Inclusionary Zoning, presenting a shared vision for how governments can adopt a consistent, evidence-based approach to inclusionary zoning across the housing system.
